Bucket Tips

Cat bucket tips were designed in order to ensure:

  • Maximum penetration
  • Unsurpassed durability
  • Maximum leverage of equipment’s hydraulic system
  • Fuel economy
  • Resistance to wrenching and wear under demanding conditions

Cat bucket tips feature a steel-alloy design (DH-2, DH-3):

  • DH-2 steel is valued for hardness, for better resistance to wear and impact
  • DH-3 steel is used for tips subjected to high working temperatures. It resists the softening that can occur when parts are heated over 400º F or 204º C

"Penetration Plus" for all Cat excavators
These teeth, especially designed for general-purpose excavators, are made of DH-3 steel and are heat treated to the core for greater resistance.

Penetration Plus teeth have an upper and lower central vein to reinforce the blade against shearing. These teeth keep an even thickness from first to last use, which allows for an aggressive penetration for the duration of the tooth’s life.

These teeth are available in sizes ranging from J300 to J700 inclusively, as well as from K-8 to K-170 inclusively, for all general-purpose excavators. They are unconditionally guaranteed against breakage for life.

"Pen Long Life" for 320-375 Cat Excavators
Designed for:

  • Optimal penetration and performance
  • Higher resistance thanks to Tungsten particles
  • Reduced operating costs

"HD Pen" for 966-992 Cat Wheel Loaders
 Designed for:

  • Optimal penetration while protecting other bucket components
  • Faster bucket filling
  • Having a large amount of wear material
  • Better tip maintenance due to a self-sharpening shape
