Training

Hewitt offers two trainings in order for you to conform to Canadian Standards and to help you decrease the risk of accidents.

Training can be held on customer's site or on Hewitt's premises in Pointe-Claire and it is meant for counterbalanced, electric or combustion forklift models as well as for narrow aisle and cross-country forklift, for Caterpillar or any other make.

At the end of their training, participants will receive a pocket card attesting their success and this certificate will be valid for a 3-year period according to B335-2004 standard.


Operator Safety Training (complete training) 

Goals:
  • To inform forklift operators on security requirements, safety driving and accidents statistics
  • To develop knowledge on loads and carriage stability rules
  • To improve operation methods in order to reduce accident risks and increase productivity
Methodology;
  • 4 hours of theory in class to give pertinent information and exchange on objectives
  • 4 hours of practice for drivers to show their aptitudes, to develop operation techniques and improve safety
Targeted:
  • Experimented drivers wishing to conform to standards
  • Customer person in charge of Health and Safety
  • New driver who has a minimum of 40 operation hours plus forklift knowledge


Operator Safety Training (refresher)

Goal: 
  • To inform experimented drivers on recent statistics
  • Review loads and carriage stability rules
  • Refresh operator's knowledge on risks associated to forklift
Methodology: 
  • 4 hours of theory in class to give pertinent information and exchange on objectives
Targeted:
  • Customer operators who already took the complete training, (with supporting proof)
