There are many steps involved in your machinery maintenance and each one is important. One essential factor is the grease you choose. We offer different kinds to meet all your needs.
Cat multi-purpose lithium complex grease with molybdenum can be used for light to medium-load applications. Molybdenum bisulfite greases protect joints from damage in applications with severe impact (slamming). The lithium acts as a thickening agent. The moly grease, as it is called, contains 3% moly. Other greases in this category generally contain from 0% to 3%.
Cat Auto-Lube greases are made of 5% moly and a calcium sulfonate complex thickener which, compared to lithium and lithium complex greases, provides a higher resistance to scratches, wear, corrosion and water washout. Special blends of petroleum base oils that have a low-temperature pour point can be used when the weather is cold. This process ensures joint lubrication even in sudden drops of temperature. Despite their ultra-lubricating power, Cat Auto-Lube greases are tacky enough to adhere to vertical surfaces such as an excavator’s gear tower.
Cat Desert Gold grease offers the same protection as Cat Auto-Lube greases, but in moderate to extreme heat conditions. It is made of high-viscosity synthetic base oil, which means that the viscosity will minimally change with temperature variances.
Cat Arctic Platinum greases have low-viscosity synthetic base oil. Cat Arctic Platinum NLGI grease offers exceptional protection in temperatures as low as –60° C (–76° F).
Cat Paver grease is used for bearings that support the conveyor belts on paving equipment.
Cat Water and Temperature Resistant grease is just as suitable as the multi-purpose grease, but offers a better resistance to scratches, wear, water washout and corrosion.
Cat special use greases are recommended for high-speed, low to moderate loads such as ball and roller bearings.
